CyCA Foundation: Science And Knowledge In Action

Objectives and activities

The specific objectives of the Foundation by way of illustration (but without limitation), and that form part of the foundation objectives  which are to be developed and considered in individual programmes would be as follows:

Initial and in-service training  of  qualified personnel  or involved in the development of projects concerning health improvement, especially with reference to the eradication of endemic diseases in third world countries, both through our own training programme and in collaboration with the other institutions.

In this framework  the Foundation:

1.- Will promote  Postgraduate and Specialisation studies in the above-mentioned subjects which are related to foundational activities.

2.- Will organise and implement monographic courses of variable durations in subjects related to foundational activities.

3.- Will organize seminars, international meetings, congresses and encounters  on the different issues which embrace foundational objectives.

4.- Will develop  educational material  for its programmes, courses, congresses, seminars, studies and other formative activities which may be sold, lent or  granted to third parties.

5.- Will cooperate in activities of a similar nature to others which may have already been organised or promoted by other Institutions, Administrations and Spanish or foreign Universities.  Will also cooperate with  international organizations  promoting cooperation programmes in this area.

b) Research into scientific and technological know-how in the field of health, and specially in their practical application in the eradication of endemic diseases in third world countries  as well as fomenting the harmonization of health rights in all continents.

Therefore, the Foundation will promote:

1.- Study and research into scientific and technological issues which affect the development of health systems in those countries in which it will act.

2.- The organisation of debate forums amongst experts, researchers, political leaders, civil servants and professionals to debate and interchange experiences on any subject related to its foundational objectives.

3.- Agreements, utilising available resources, in collaboration with, if  necessary,   other state and private institutions,  to stimulate investigation through awards, grants and other kinds of help .

4.- The production of documentary and bibliographical materials related to the objectives of the Foundation.

5.- The dissemination of documentation and information of interest related to areas of activity between Universities, Institutions, and State Organisations  as well as  other  interested entities.

6.- The publication in any written, computerised or audiovisual format of all those works which give support to and develop  foundational objectives.

7.- Collaboration with any administration, institution, organisation or person   wishing to develop research, studies and/or publications in the areas of activity of the foundational objectives.

c) Consultation with and technical assistance to political and social formations, state or private institutions, as well as other cooperating organisations ,related to health  at regional, national or international level.

In this framework, the Foundation:

1.- Will act as a channel of communication between the requests it may receive from third world countries  and the experts of Spanish and foreign  entities  which are qualified to, or interested in, developing this function.

2.- Will present, on its own iniciative or by demand, projects of cooperation and will recommend experts who can carry out the tasks.

3.- Will study the different financial resources of the actions and projects and, where appropriate, will raise funds or implement finance which comes from state institutions or private entities: Spanish, European or international.

d) Will liaise with administrations, institutions, entities, organisations, persons national or foreign  wishing to cooperate in the development of health policies as well as the harmonization of health rights on any continent.

e) Will intervene in projects of cooperation and development  and humanitarian aid.

In this area, the Foundation:

1.- Will carry out technical operations  to identify projects and/or programmes

2.- Will develop international projects and/or programmes according to foundational objectives.

3.- Will implement  the projects and/or programmes which it promotes or which it may be entrusted with.

4.- Will  monitor and assess the projects and/or programmes

5.- Will promote and create foundations which will give their support to Science, Knowledge and Action in third world countries.

f) And will give support to as many actions as  necessary in order to to contribute to the improvement of health and quality of life in those countries where it acts.
